In Holy Trinity Catholic School Division, we continue to build our relationship with the priests and deacons in our three communities Moose Jaw, Shaunavon, and Swift Current. At our first vice principal faith leadership meeting in the Fall 2021, we were excited to welcome all the clergy. Father Melchor from Christ the King Church in Shaunavon joined our meeting virtually with Andrea Oleson the principal of Christ the King School. Father Chris from Christ the Redeemer Church joined virtually with Ron Cronan the vice principal at All Saints Catholic School in Swift Current. The 5 elementary schools and 2 high schools in Moose Jaw met at the division office with Father George, Deacon Lamont and seminarian Daniel from St. Joseph Church and Father Nestor from Church of Our Lady. During this meeting we discussed what is working well and how we can continue to support each other. We added the clergy to our detailed implementation plan for 2021 -22 school year.
We continue to look at new ways to permeate our faith throughout the school year. Our School Theme for 2021-22 school year is the Catholic Social Justice Teaching “Rights and Responsibilities.” “Walking Together in the Light of Christ” (Psalm 89:15). We are celebrating the feast day of each of our school Saints with a blessing and/or mass intention during the weekend mass inviting all staff and families from each school. We brought our schools together virtually through Advent masses in December 2021. Each week, one school and parish led mass that was live streamed and recorded for the whole school division. What a great opportunity to see the light of Christ shine in each of our communities during the Advent Season.
